Check what changes after cancellation
Read the provider's current cancellation and retention information. Access may continue until the billing period ends, change to a limited plan, or stop in another way. Do not assume that canceling deletes the account, and do not assume that the files remain accessible indefinitely.
Find the billing route that created the subscription. An app-store purchase and a direct website purchase may have different cancellation controls. Save the confirmation and the date access is expected to change. A removed app icon is not evidence that billing has stopped.
If other people use shared projects, tell them what is changing through your normal communication process. Ownership, links, and collaboration access may need attention before the account loses paid features. Do not delete a shared workspace merely to stop your own subscription.
Keep both a working copy and a readable copy where needed
Export important projects in their native or editable format if the service supports it, then make a widely readable version where useful. A PDF can preserve a finished document's appearance, while an editable project may be necessary for later revisions. One format does not always replace the other.
Include linked media, attachments, comments, or other components that matter. Some exports capture only the visible document. Open a representative project in the destination app and inspect the parts you rely on, especially formulas, layers, fonts, or embedded files.
For cloud-stored files, make sure the download is complete. A shortcut or placeholder in a desktop folder may still depend on the service. Disconnect temporarily and open a sample to check that you have a usable local copy.
Finish the handover before closing the account
Store the exports in an organized folder with a note of the original service and export date. Keep the relevant license or subscription records if they explain future access to a file or application. Back up the new folder through your usual routine.
After cancellation, check the account status and the next billing information. If it does not match the confirmation, contact the provider through its official support route while you still have the records available.
Account deletion is a further decision. Review its consequences only after the files, shared access, and billing are settled. Taking the steps in that order gives you time to correct a bad export instead of discovering it after the source has disappeared.
